Diabetes News

Changes to the NICE NG17 guidelines 'Type 1 diabetes in adults: diagnosis and management' which were updated on 31 March 2022 are now coming to fruition. In my area SW London, the pan-London implementation for continuous glucose sensors for adults with type 1 diabetes : written pathway, device list & flowchart have been published & agreed. But bureaucracy still delays the process as each Clinical Network has to agree & implement it as well!

Next year, maybe after the positive results from trials. Commercial pumping with fully close loops may become available to all Type 1s on the NHS.

Very glad to see @NHSEngland has unveiled its 'The Six Principles of Peer Support' We now wait for this to be rolled out nationwide. Press Button below.
